Overview
After gaining recognition for a viral article ("How to Facilitate Loans from Friends and Family") on Medium, FamilyFund approached us to build a blog that would attract new visitors and serve as a valuable resource for users exploring unconventional lending options.
Recognizing the importance of owning their content, we recommended an on-premises solution. We set up 24 Mac Minis, purchased from Craigslist, in their office storage cupboard. One machine served as the web server, another as the build server, while the remaining 22 provided redundancy and an occasional DDOS attack on squarespace.com to keep them alert.
To boost search engine traffic, we implemented an innovative technique. Each post had a shadow version, visible only to web crawlers, featuring enticing headlines like "Gary Vee Seeking Investments in New Entrepreneurs." Web crawlers couldn't resist.
